SMS Messaging

Ride Hero sends transactional SMS messages to keep riders and drivers informed during active trips. This page describes how you opt in, what messages you may receive, and how to stop them at any time.
How You Opt In
During account registration in the Ride Hero app, users are presented with the following consent checkbox. It is unchecked by default and is presented separately from the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy agreement. Opting in is not required to use the Service.
This checkbox is unchecked by default. Users must actively check it to opt in.
Users may also opt in or out at any time through their account notification settings in the app.
Message Types
Messages are sent only in connection with active ride activity. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS.
- New ride request alerts (driver)
- Ride status updates accepted, en route, arrived, completed, canceled
- Scheduled ride reminders
- Account notifications
Message frequency varies based on your ride activity. Message and data rates may apply.

How to Stop Messages
You can opt out at any time using any of the following methods:

STOP | Unsubscribe immediately. No further messages will be sent. |
STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT | Same as STOP. |
HELP | Receive contact information and support details. |
START, SUBSCRIBE | Re-subscribe after opting out. |
You can also opt out in your account notification settings in the Ride Hero app.
Privacy & Data
Ride Hero will not sell or share your phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes. SMS messaging is handled by Twilio as our messaging service provider. For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
